Dr. Woods is the former Daniel P. Amos Children’s Chair and Director of the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and Chief of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) at Emory University. Under his 15 years of dedicated service, Dr. Woods led the Aflac Cancer Center to become one of the largest and most respected pediatric hematology/oncology programs in the country.

Dr. Woods received his MD from the University of Pennsylvania and completed his postdoctoral training with a residency in pediatrics at the University of Minnesota in Twin Cities, Minn.; and fellowships in pediatric hematology/oncology at Cornell University and the University of Minnesota. He has been involved in several clinical research areas during his career, including acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and screening infants for neuroblastoma. In 2011, he won the Distinguished Career Award from the American Society of Pediatric Hematology.
