Well-child visits
Well-child checkups are recommended for all children. During a regular health check, your child will receive a physical exam, as well as any immunizations needed. Your child’s provider will ask questions about issues that might affect your child’s health or performance in school. You will also have a chance to discuss your child’s development, behavior concerns, nutrition, parenting and safety with your provider.
We recommend scheduling your child’s health checks according to the schedule below:
- Within the first seven days of being born
- 1 month old
- 2 months old
- 4 months old
- 6 months old
- 9 months old
- 12 months old
- 15 months old
- 18 months old
- 2 years old
- 2.5 years old
- Annually from 3 to 18 years old
Sick visits
We may be able to see your child the same day for sick visits. Same-day sick visits should only be used for minor illnesses or concerns, such as colds and the flu, earaches and ear infections, skin and scalp rashes, and stomachaches. It is best to call early in the morning for a same-day sick visit.
