Dr. Flanagan is dedicated to providing compassionate and quality care to your children. As a mother, Dr. Flanagan feels that she has a keen appreciation of the emotional demands that a family endures when treating a child with an orthopaedic condition. She believes in a “team approach” of the child (patient), family and doctor all collaborating together to make a decision with regards to treatment.

When asked “what do you want you patients and families to know about you?” Dr. Flanagan responded, “1.) I love kids, 2.) I’m smarter than I am tall, and 3.) I’m still a Washington Redskins fan.”

Dr. Flanagan is fellowship-trained in pediatric orthopaedic surgery and is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. She has also received extra training in Baltimore at Sinai Hospital, learning the most advanced techniques of limb deformity and lengthening at the International Center for Limb Lengthening. She is trained in the use of the Taylor Spatial Frame, TL-Hex frame, and Precice lengthening nail. She has also been invited back as faculty to teach others how to perform limb lengthening surgeries at the renowned Baltimore Limb Deformity Course.

While Dr. Flanagan has interest in the entire spectrum of pediatric orthopaedic surgery, her special focuses of expertise include: limb deformity and limb lengthening, osteogenesis imperfecta, improving bone health in children and managing adolescent scoliosis (especially in females).

In her spare time, she enjoys running, hiking, and spending time with her husband and two crazy boys.
