If you choose Children's Johns Creek Pediatrics to serve as your pediatric primary care office, please contact us at 470-566-1150 once your baby is born. We will schedule a newborn visit with one of our pediatricians or nurse practitioners to examine your baby. We like to see newborns for their first visit within two to five days of birth.
We understand changes in behavior can raise questions and concerns for families. If you notice any of the following patterns in your child, they may benefit from early intervention and support.
- Persistent aggression, frequent emotional outbursts or extreme defiance that disrupts home or school
- Ongoing withdrawal from friends or family, significant changes in sleep or appetite, or a loss of interest in previously enjoyed activities
- Repeated difficulty focusing, impulsive actions that cause harm or intense anxiety that interferes with daily functioning
- Skipping school or seeing a decline in grades
- Stealing, smoking, vaping, using drugs or participating in unlawful behavior
If you have concerns, call our office to schedule a behavioral health evaluation. Our team offers counseling on behavioral management strategies and can coordinate referrals for therapy or additional services when needed.
Early evaluation supports healthier outcomes and can help reduce long-term challenges.
If your child is planning on playing sports this school year, your child’s school will most likely require your child to have a sports physical. School and sports physicals help make sure players are in good health before they play.
School, camp and sports physical forms are completed by one of our providers at the time of your child’s appointment. Please allow enough time to schedule your child’s appointment before the forms are due.
We offer hearing and vision screenings along with blood tests that can check your child’s sugar levels, urine tests to check for bladder or kidney infections, as well as tests for common illnesses like strep throat and flu.
Our providers are affiliated with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta's three pediatric hospitals and work closely with Children’s specialists, giving your child access to pediatric care experts in more than 60 different specialties, programs and clinics.
What vaccines does my child need?
Your child will receive most of their childhood vaccines by the time they are 6 years old. Many vaccines are given more than once, at different ages in different combinations. You can download an immunization schedule here.
