Construction Update: June 2020

A tower crane has been installed on the construction site, regular blasting will conclude June 19 and paving will occur on Cliff Valley Way NE and Briarcliff Road the week of June 22.

Thank you for your patience as we continue construction on the North Druid Hills campus. Below you will find construction updates and traffic impacts related to this development.

Crane Installation

A tower crane, which stands approximately 260 feet tall, was installed on the construction site last week as we move into the next phase of construction for the hospital. The swing radius of the crane will be fully within the construction area and no impact is anticipated to nearby residences or businesses.

Regular Blasting to End by June 19

Regular blasting at the construction site will conclude Friday, June 19. We have appreciated your understanding and patience throughout this process. We do anticipate the need for occasional, limited blasting in the future and will notify surrounding neighbors if blasting will occur outside the 2 to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday timeframe.

Paving to Occur Next Week

Paving will take place next week, impacting non-rush hour traffic on Cliff Valley Way NE and Briarcliff Road. We do not anticipate full closures of either road, and construction workers will flag the impacted areas and use “stop/slow” signs to facilitate the flow of traffic.
