Accomplishments 

  • Member of the Children's Oncology Group (COG) Phase I and Pilot Consortium—one of only 21 centers nationwide
  • Among the top five percent of institutions nationally for clinical trial enrollment for COG studies
  • Recipient of a $1 million, four-year EUREKA grant
  • One of the founding members of POETIC
  • Offer enrollment in exclusive Phase I and II studies for neuroblastoma and other cancers through our participation in POETIC and NANT
  • First Phase I clinical trial to test the concept of a "chemosensitization" approach in children using Plerixafor
  • One of only eight centers in the country awarded funds to participate in the NIH sponsored Sickle Cell Clinical Research Network; in collaboration with other national experts and treatment centers nationwide, we are conducting important clinical research studies that focus on improving the quality of life for kids with sickle cell disease
  • One of 17 sites in the country in the NIH-funded Transfusion Medicine and Hemostasis Research Network
  • Nationally and internationally recognized hemophilia treatment center with long-term success
