Why ICD-10 Matters, and How We Can Help

As part of a nationwide effort to improve how illnesses and injuries can be tracked, the ICD-9 codes used to report medical diagnoses and inpatient procedures are being replaced by ICD-10 codes. According to the American Medical Association, this transition will enable more accurate documentation of medical conditions and inpatient procedures.

Any change of this magnitude presents challenges. Children’s can help with training, information, toolkits and other resources.
