As physicians we know that eating right and exercising are good for our bodies. Sometimes we are so busy taking care of everyone else that we don’t prioritize taking care of ourselves. That’s why we’ve developed activities such as our annual Physician Steps Challenge and provide healthy, tasty snacks in the physician lounges. Let’s help each other jump-start healthy habits.

2019 Doctor Wellness Fairs a Hit
The annual Doctor Wellness Fairs were THE place to be for Children’s physicians during the last week of September. These fairs are a one stop shop of sorts for physicians to complete their annual health assessments, including flu shots, biometrics and t-spot (tuberculosis) tests. In addition, the doctors had an opportunity to learn more about all Physician Wellness initiatives, including the You Matter Second Victim program and details on improving physical, mental and emotional wellness.
This is the fourth year the Wellness Fairs have been held and they’ve grown more popular with each passing year. More than 160 physicians attended Fairs at Egleston, Scottish Rite and Hughes Spalding, up 10% over 2018.
Physicians who were not able to stop by the September Wellness Fairs to get their flu shot, can still visit an Employee Wellness Fair to get that important annual vaccination.
