The story behind our purpose
Josh Joines was born with spina bifida, a serious condition that occurs when a baby’s spinal column does not close completely while in the womb. Now a college bound high school graduate, Josh has undergone more than 15 hospitalizations and surgeries, and spent almost four months of his life in Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta hospitals.
Children’s at Town Center, where Josh goes for services, will be a one-stop-shop for many healthcare needs that children and teens commonly face. From urgent care and sports medicine to pediatric specialties such as nephrology and endocrinology, this campus will house a network of the best pediatric care that is easy for families to access.
Just as at any Children’s facility, when families like Josh’s walks into the new building, they can be assured that their child will be treated with the specialized pediatric equipment and techniques that will help them thrive.
