Children's Miracle Network Hospitals

Hispanic Initiative

Nearly three years ago, Children's Miracle Network and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta embraced the opportunity to partner with a number of Hispanic businesses to further benefit children by reaching out to our Spanish- speaking community. Our partners support fundraising efforts through various events and campaigns, such as Por Los Niños Radiothon, Heroes Campaign, toy drives, Miracle Balloons, coin collection and a bowl-a-thon. We feel fortunate to partner more than 20 businesses within the Hispanic Community and are very grateful for their support.

Partners and Events:

La Raza and La Mega Radio Stations
For two days every fall, on-air personalities from La Raza & La Mega share the mic with some of Atlanta’s most inspiring celebrities - the patients of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta - during the “Por Los Niños Hispanic Radiating”. La Raza & La Mega Dj’s are engaged with our patients throughout the year with events like: Heroes Campaign, Soccer Matches and toy Drive. Children’s is excited to partner with these important radio stations which brings so much hope and fun to our Latino patients.  In 2012 these stations raised over $215,000 in two days!

La Mejor de Michoacan – Pasteleria y Neveria (Ice Cream shop)
For the past two years, the Medrano family, owners of La Mejor de Michoacan, gets involved with CMN each year by selling Miracle Balloons for Children’s and collecting coins in their retail stores. They have canisters in front of their 4 locations around Gainesville and Norcross.

Super Mercado Carrillo
The Carrillo Family, owners of Super Mercado Carrillo and restaurant in the Gainesville area are great supporters of Children's.  Last year, Super Mercado Carrillo and their restaurant hosted a very successful balloon campaign around the holidays and also had coin cannisters at each of their locations.

Super Mercado Jalisco
Super Mercado Jalisco, a rapidly expanding Mexican supermarket in the Atlanta area, joined the Hispanic Initiative as soon it was created. In 2012, Super Mercado Jalisco's Miracle Balloon campaign raised more than $8,000 dollars in a three week period.

Mujeres for Children’s
Mujeres for Children’s is a group of Hispanic women who, through volunteer opportunities, fundraisers and special events, provide awareness and financial support for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. This wonderful group is preparing their first bowl-a-thon event to benefit Children’s.
