Where Nothing Matters More Than Family

Right now we have two options. We can view ourselves as trapped inside our homes under quarantine. Or we can take an optimist's view and see ourselves as explorers of the Great Indoors. Whether you’re a parent with a toddler or you’re getting more time than ever with older teens, the Great Indoors give us all an opportunity to steal extra moments that we’ll be able to savor forever.

It doesn’t matter that you let them stay up past their bedtime. Or that you put headphones in when he’s practicing the violin. It doesn’t matter that you gave her a little extra screen time. Or that you couldn’t figure out that problem on his math homework. It doesn’t matter that you’re not perfect. What matters is you’re there for them.

Right now it may be scary, but know that we’re here if you need us.

How Roles Have Changed Since COVID-19

At Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, our staff works each and every day to provide the best care possible to children and their families. And it has been truly inspiring to see the dedication, heart and strength they are putting forth in taking extra precautions for the health and safety of kids across Georgia during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our employees—no matter their role—encourage others with their commitment to caring for our patients, as well as their determination to making their time with children and their families as comforting as it can be. So we asked them to share why they love their jobs here at Children’s and how this crisis has impacted the work they do. Here is what they shared with us.
