Introduction

Karen Zimowski, MD, is a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist at the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine. She is a member of the hemostasis and thrombosis team and has a special interest in caring for children and adolescents with hemophilia and rare bleeding disorders.

Dr. Zimowski received her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia prior to completing her pediatric residency training at Johns Hopkins University. She completed her pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine.

Research

Dr. Zimowski’s research interests include the regulation of coagulation and the intricate processes that maintain balance between hemostasis and thrombosis.
