Introduction

Dr. Poplawski joined the staff of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in 2013 as a pediatric physiatrist. During her time as a pediatric resident at the University of North Carolina Hospitals, she received several awards including, the TOUCH Award (translating osteopathic understanding into community health) and the President’s Award from Cornelia de Lange Syndrome Foundation. She was nominated for student doctor of osteopathic medicine of the year and served as the educational chief of the University of North Carolina residency program. She completed her fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine. During this time, she developed an interest in taking care of children with special needs.

Dr. Poplawski is board certified in osteopathic medicine and pediatric rehabilitation medicine. Her clinical focus is caring for children with disabling conditions and striving to improve their function and quality of life. She is actively involved pediatric rehabilitation, cerebral palsy and spina bifida multidisciplinary clinics. Dr. Poplawski’s research interests include spasticity intrathecal baclofen therapy and intrathecal catheter trials for dystonia and spasticity management. She has also presented at numerous conferences and has published textbook chapters on the care for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
