Children’s has received many awards and honors, including:

  • Honor Roll designation through the Georgia Department of Public Health
    Children’s, Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (SOAP) team achieved the Honor Roll designation through the Georgia Department of Public Health. Learn more about the Antibiotic Stewardship Honor Roll and what this honor means. 

  • The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval
    Children’s received this award in 2007 for upholding national standards of healthcare quality and safety. Learn more about the Joint Commission and what this honor means.

  • U.S.News & World Report Best Pediatric Hospitals
    Children’s ranked every year since 2004. In 2011 all ten specialties were ranked: cancer, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology, heart and heart surgery, kidney disorders, neonatology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopaedics, pulmonology and urology.

  • Parents magazine
    Children’s made the list of top 10 pediatric hospitals. Our Sibley Heart Center and our Orthopaedics program ranked among the top five programs in the country.

  • Best Doctors of America
    In its most recent survey, Children’s had 158 doctors on its Best Doctors list.

  • Atlanta magazine
    Children’s had more than 80 doctors on the 2013 Top Doctors list.

  • 2010 Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) Watchdog Award
    Children's received this Best in Class award for hospitals that have more than 300 patient beds.

  • 2010 Sustained Blood Stream Infection Improvement: It’s a Marathon, Not a Sprint
    Children’s received this National Top 10 Award from the Child Health Corporation of America.

  • 2008 Good Health is in Your Hands: A Hand Hygiene Improvement Initiative
    Children’s received the Josh Nahum Special Achievement Award for Infection Prevention and Control from the Partnership for Health and Accountability and the Georgia Hospital Association.

  • 2007 Influenza Healthcare Vaccination Award
    The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) honored Children’s for the highest healthcare facility vaccination rate in the U.S. for the 2006-2007 flu season.

  • 2007 special commendation
    Children’s received a special commendation for our immunization efforts from CDC and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
