ATLANTA, GA (November 27, 2023) – Foundry's Computerworld named Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta a 2024 Best Places to Work in IT, an award recognizing the top organizations that challenge their IT staff while providing great benefits and compensation. Children’s has been in the top-100 nationwide rankings in previous years and ranked number 22 this year among large organizations.

“We are incredibly proud to have received this award for the sixth time. Our team continues to demonstrate tremendous dedication as they drive technology improvements that support patient care, a variety of our support functions, cyber-security efforts and more,” said Jeremy Meller, Chief Information Officer of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. “That is why we place the highest value on our team – our patients depend on us.”

The information technology division at Children’s brings together physician and nursing informaticists, analysts, developers, engineers, technology architects and other professionals to enable high-quality care while protecting digital data and sensitive patient health information. The IS&T team is working to open Arthur M. Blank Hospital, one of the country's most advanced pediatric hospitals in September 2024, with advancements in digital integration and experience.

Large technology transformation requires a workforce that is dedicated. The IS&T team at Children’s demonstrates the value of its employees through engagement programs such as the IT Shared Leadership program, which allows non-management staff members to serve on an advice and decision-making council. They also accelerate integration of new employees into teams through an onboarding cohort program that allows new employees to get to know others while learning relevant policies and expectations.

Children’s has a variety of positions currently available on the IS&T team. To view open positions and apply for job opportunities, please visit choa.org/itcareers.

“Technology is playing an increasingly important role in modern business. IT professionals continue to benefit from this trend, as this year’s winning organizations increase staffing and offer a variety of pathways to upskill, reskill, and diversify their teams.” Said Rob O’Regan, global director, content strategy, Foundry. “These companies provide a model for IT and HR leaders who are looking for new ways to attract, engage, and retain talent in an increasingly competitive IT environment.”
