Sickle Cell Education Day
Sickle Cell Education Day
Our annual Sickle Cell Disease Education Day and Awareness Fair is an opportunity for patients and families of those with sickle cell disease to gather and learn more about new updates in sickle cell disease treatments, as well as to spread awareness and increase community engagement.
Our theme this year is "Supercells: Unlocking the Power Within." We will have raffles, games, music, giveaways and lots of fun activities for kids. Lunch will be provided.
Additionally, we will have sessions and panel discussions on the following topics:
- New medications for sickle cell disease
- Bone marrow transplant and gene therapy
- New areas of research in sickle cell disease
- Transfusion medicine
- What to expect from an adult SCD provider
- Advocating for children with SCD in school
