Dr. Tang joined Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University as Assistant Professor of Pediatric Hematology in July 2017. She previously completed a three-year fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at Columbia University. Prior to her fellowship, she earned a medical degree from Medical College of Georgia–Augusta University, followed by her pediatrics residency training at Emory.
Dr. Tang has a broad clinical interest in general hematology and sickle cell disease, especially in disorders of iron metabolism, clinical treatment and management of sickle cell disease, transfusion-related iron overload, and best practices in transfusion therapy and related complications in sickle cell disease.
Dr. Tang grew up in metro Atlanta and feels very fortunate to be back home, working with a talented and supportive group of hematology providers, nurses and staff. Her patients and families continue to impress her with their strength and resilience, and she considers it a privilege to be part of their care.
In her spare time, Dr. Tang enjoys practicing yoga, hiking in the mountains, attending concerts and indoor gardening. She is also a fan of University of Georgia football and Atlanta United. She is excited to be a part of the Children’s team.
