Established in 2011, Emerging Leaders for Children’s (ELC) is a leadership development board of accomplished business professionals, physicians, and community volunteers in their 30s to early 40s. Under the oversight of the Children's Foundation Board of Trustees, ELC's mission is to advance the vision of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta by engaging the community, raising awareness and funds, and growing the next generation of volunteer leaders.

Regular business meetings, networking opportunities with Trustees and executives, volunteer engagement with patients, and member socials make for a meaningful ELC experience for approximately 30 standing members.

ELC is currently accepting applications for 2020 membership now through mid-August 2019.

The Scrubs Party

Core to ELC is the group’s signature fundraising event, The Scrubs Party. It is hosted every spring in support of a program at Children’s as voted upon by the group. The sold-out 2019 Scrubs Party presented by Rogers was a huge success, raising $648,328 for the Children’s Heart Research and Outcomes Center (HeRO). To date, ELC has raised more than $1.8 million for Children’s. In the past, ELC has funded programs for the Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Center, the Concussion Program, the Robotics Center, the Child Protection Program, the ECMO Center, and the Neurosciences Program. In addition, ELC helped launch the Children’s childhood obesity prevention campaign in metro Atlanta.
The seventh annual Scrubs Party will be held on Saturday, March 14th at The Fairmont.
