19th Annual 95.5 WSB Care-a-Thon Brings Hope to Children on July 25 and July 26


ATLANTA (July 18,2019) – The 19th annual WSB Care-a-Thon returns on July 25 at 5 a.m. and ends July 26 at 6 p.m. on Cox Media Group’s News 95.5 and AM750 WSB. The 37-hour radio event, which helps fund family support services, research and the fellowship program at the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, will feature stories of hope and inspiration from Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center patients, families and staff from throughout Georgia. Listeners will have the opportunity to make donations and purchase one-of-a-kind experiences throughout the two-day event.

Radio personalities, including Scott Slade, Clark Howard, Eric Von Haessler, Mark Arum, Erick Erickson and Brian Kilmeade, will host the WSB Care-a-Thon, which has raised more than $22 million to date for the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center. Special guests this year will include Dan Amos, Chairman and CEO of Aflac Inc., Atlanta Falcons Quarterback Matt Ryan and other notable Atlanta-based personalities.

The WSB Care-a-Thon will feature patients and families from areas across Georgia, including Albany, Atlanta, Cumming, Dacula, Ellijay, Gainesville, Jonesboro, Lawrenceville, Lithonia, Marietta, Powder Springs, Senoia and Tallapoosa.

Major donation opportunities include:

  • Matt Ryan’s Dinner for Two with No. 2–An invitation for two to dinner with Atlanta Falcons Quarterback Matt Ryan and special guest Calvin Ridley on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Maggiano’s–Buckhead. Experience includes an autographed football and photo with Mattand Calvin .
  • John Smoltz Hall of Fame Package–An invitation for two to the John Smoltz Celebrity-Am draw party on Sunday, Aug. 11, at Hudson Grille–North Point. Each pair will receive one autographed baseball and one autographed jersey by Hall of Famers John Smoltz and Phil Niekro.
  • Freddie and Friends Luncheon–An invitation for two to have lunch with Atlanta Braves First Baseman Freddie Freeman and a special guest. Experience includes an autographed baseball by Freddie, and the opportunity to have your photo taken with Freddie and his guest.
  • Atlanta Hawks Experience–Four lower-level tickets to a 2019-20 season game, early game entry and two parking passes. Also includes one 2018-19 season team signed basketball.
