About this Atlanta Charity Event

Strike up the band! With each passing year, more and more children and families crowd the streets of Atlanta for a little holiday magic. Join us to officially kick off the holiday season! If you can't join us downtown, be sure to catch us on WSB-TV Channel 2. 

Each year this dazzling holiday parade features:

  • Award-winning marching bands
  • Adorable dogs dressed in their finest holiday attire
  • Sleek and classic antique cars
  • Spectacular dance groups
  • Colorful holiday-themed and animated floats
  • Giant helium balloons
  • Energetic cheerleaders and specialty groups
  • Dozens of happy clowns
  • And the grand finale—Santa Claus!

Children's Christmas Parade

 Parade Route 

The Children's Christmas Parade begins at Peachtree Street near Baker Street. The route follows Peachtree Street and turns right onto Marietta Street. It will then turn left and end on Centennial Olympic Park Drive.

Leave your sleigh at home. MARTA stops within walking distance of the Parade route.

Limited parking is available in pay lots. The earlier you arrive, the better your chances of getting a good view. The Parade steps off at 10:30 a.m.

The application process for the 2008 Children's Christmas Parade has closed. We hope you will consider participating in the 2009 Children's Christmas Parade. Performance, specialty and other groups are invited to participate in the Children's Christmas Parade. Your participation will not only be a memorable experience, but also it will support a wonderful cause.

Volunteers are still needed for the 2008 Children's Christmas Parade. Please contact Hobie Pileski or call 770-805-8015 for more information on how to become a volunteer or apply to be in the 2009 parade.

Distinguished Clown Corps

The Distinguished Clown Corps has been a standing tradition with the Children's Christmas Parade since 1991. Each year, a group of Atlanta's chief executives and senior managers join together to march in the parade. Join your fellow business executives for the Children's Christmas Parade by downloading 2008 Distinguished Clown Corps Entry Form.
