Every day, lifesaving work happens at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. From pediatric cancer treatments and organ transplants to fracture care and appendectomies, we care for our community’s children and teens. At Children’s, a not-for-profit organization, our mission is to make kids better today and healthier tomorrow by bringing health, hope and happiness to children through the philanthropic support of individual donors, charitable foundation and corporations.
In 2011, Children’s provided nearly $74 million of unreimbursed care for children who needed medical treatment. We also invested $149 million in community benefits like pediatric research, teaching and child wellness initiatives, and unique pediatric services, all of which would not be possible without donor support.
The Foundation relies heavily on volunteers both in the hospitals and in the community. Each year, in-hospital volunteers donate more than 127,000 hours of their time and, in 2011, community volunteer groups raised more than $2.2 million for Children’s through fundraising activities and events.
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is a 501(c)(3) organization, gifts to which may be deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes
