Survival Rates at Discharge

Survival rates for our patients at discharge are higher than the national average.

What does this data mean?

This graph shows survival rates for Children’s surgical patients when they leave the hospital. It means more children survive heart surgeries at Children’s than the national average.* Higher survival rates are better.

By participating in organizations like the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS), we are able to compare our outcomes to national averages.

How do we make sure we are providing high-quality care?

The Children’s Sibley Heart Center is the most complete pediatric cardiac program in Georgia and the largest in the Southeast.

We continue to support families even after they leave the hospital.

  • Our Kids at Heart program is an opportunity for families of children with heart defects to connect, learn and share experiences.
  • Camp Braveheart is a chance for kids with congenital heart disease or heart transplant to experience camp and make lasting memories.
