Children’s has some of the highest heart transplant volumes in the country for children from birth to age 21.
What does this data mean?
In 2011, the team performed 17 heart transplants—one of the highest in the country. Nearly fifty percent of these were performed on children younger than age 6.
Why are transplant volumes important?
Statistics show centers that have a higher number of transplants often have better outcomes.* Our team has also treated many patients with different conditions.
