Deciding to go forward with a pediatric heart transplant for a child is a very serious and important decision.
Providing education for patients and families begins immediately once a patient has been referred to the Children’s Heart Transplant program. The purpose of providing education is to inform the potential heart transplant recipient and family about the entire pediatric heart transplant process through a variety of mediums, both pre- and post-transplant, to ultimately improve the outcomes of any procedure.
