What is the treatment for ASD?
Children's Healthcare of Atlanta offers therapy services provided by qualified clinicians that can help your child in many ways. Although there is no cure for ASD, therapy can help your child learn to control many of the symptoms.
Your child’s doctor will talk with you about specific treatment for your child. Some general guidelines may include:
·Speech language therapy to work on:
-Language and communication skills
·Occupational therapists can address:
-Daily needs such as bathing, dressing and grooming.
-Sensory integration to help your child adapt to school and work better.
·Physical therapists can help treat movement and coordination issues such as:
-Decreased body tone
·Audiology can help if your child also has a hearing loss.
Our goal is to help your child be successful in his or her daily life and with interactions with others.
