A Wells Fargo ATM is on the first floor.

Bathrooms and Showers
Each patient room has its own bathroom, which parents can use.

Chapel
Located on the first floor.
Hours: 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Services: every Wednesday at noon and for special occasions.

Food Services
Cafeteria

The cafeteria is on the first floor past the gift shop.  

  • Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Monday to Friday
  • Lunch: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday
  • There are snack machines in the cafeteria. you can use them 24 hours a day.

If the doctor orders a special diet (diabetic, low-sodium) for your child, you will receive a diet-specific menu. The order will be approved by a nutritionist before delivery.

Gift shop

  • 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. to Monday to Friday
  • 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday
  • Noon to 4 p.m. Sunday

Legal Aid from Health Law Partnership (HeLP)
HeLP is a project of Georgia State University’s College of Law, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Atlanta Legal Aid Society. HeLP’s goal is to improve the health and well-being of low-income children and their families through the combined effort of medical and legal experts. HeLP lawyers and staff offer free legal services to families with children receiving care through Children’s who are living at or below 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Level. HeLP provides legal assistance with civil legal problems, such as housing, domestic violence, child support, guardianship, education problems and public benefits.

To contact HeLP, ask your child’s doctor, nurse or social worker for assistance or call ext. 57948. You do not need a referral from a doctor or hospital staff.

Mail/Stamps
Mail is delivered daily to patient rooms. The mailing address for Children’s at Hughes Spalding is 35 Jesse Hill Jr. Drive SE, Atlanta, GA 30303. Mail received after a patient has been discharged from the hospital will be forwarded to the patient’s home address. Stamps may be purchased in the Gift Shop.

Newspapers
Newspapers are located at the front entrance of the hospital.

School Program for Patients
A Georgia-certified teacher is available to help patients keep up with their studies. Teachers may visit patient rooms. A teacher will usually come by within the first three days of a patient’s stay. Call ext. 59546 for more information.

Security
The Security office can be reached at ext. 56811. Officers patrol the hospital and the hospital grounds.

Security also offers:

  • Escorts to cars
  • Motorist aid
  • Lost and found help

Smoking
Children’s is tobacco-free inside and out. To support a healing environment, smoking and the use of all tobacco products is not permitted at Children’s. This pertains to all indoor and outdoor areas of our campuses.

Soda and Snack Machines
Soda and snack machines are located in the cafeteria on the first floor and available 24 hours per day.
