In 2013, Children’s had an average length of stay of 13 days for liver transplant recipients.
What does this data mean?
This graph shows how long our patients stay in the hospital after their liver transplant surgeries. Last year, our patients stayed in the hospital a week and a half after their transplants.
Why is the length of stay important?
Length of stay shows how quickly patients heal after their surgeries. Our goal is to get patients back home with their family and friends as soon as possible.
How does Children’s make sure we are giving high-quality care?
- After his transplant, our team will check each child closely to lessen the chance of complications, such as rejection.
- Our liver transplant team teaches families about how to care for their children before, during and after their transplants.
