Introduction
Dr. Woods joined Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in August 2018. He came to Georgia from Virginia, where he served as the director of the Hemophilia Treatment Center in Norfolk. Prior to that position, he completed his pediatric hematology fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, in 2014. In 2015, he was the first Joan Hemostasis and Thrombosis fellowship graduate from Nationwide Children’s Hospital, a one-year fellowship in pediatric hemostasis and thrombosis.
Prior to his fellowship, Dr. Woods earned a medical degree from the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va., followed by residency training in pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk, Va.
Dr. Woods’ clinical and research interests focus on pediatric hematology, more specifically pediatric hemostasis and thrombosis. This includes pediatric thromboembolism, inherited thrombophilia and other pro-thrombotic conditions, and congenital bleeding disorders.
In his spare time, you will find Dr. Woods being active with his wife and two kids. He is also an avid hockey and football fan.
