Please join Children's Heart Center patients, families and staff on Tuesday, April 2 at 9:30 a.m. at the Georgia State Capitol on the North Wing stairs. Governor Brian Kemp will present a proclamation declaring February 7 to 14 as CHD Awareness Week in Georgia and an official group photo will be taken.
Our group will meet in the Rotunda of the Capitol building and proceed to the North Wing Stairs at 9:30 a.m. Our photo will be taken between 10:00-11:00 am. Please arrive early to allow time for parking and to get through security.(If you enter from the Washington Street entrance, the North Wing stairs are located inside the Capitol directly past security to the left.
Several groups will be at the Capitol for various other proclamations and photo opportunities. April 2 is the last day of the legislative session and will be a very busy day. The exact time of our group photo is unknown and we will be called to the stairs when it is our turn. To help identify those in our group, please wear red clothing and arrive by 9:30 a.m. Our Children's employees and volunteers will be looking for our staff and families and holding a Children's sign.
Visitors have the option of parking in the Capitol Lot, located off of Capitol Avenue. The Capitol Lot is a ten dollar, cash-only lot. Marta or Uber are also good options.
There is strength in numbers. Let's make a bold statement that demonstrates the power of a unified cardiac community. Children are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please wear red.
