Introduction

Dr. Patel is a pediatric allergist/immunologist at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine.

Dr. Patel was raised in Madison, AL and attended college at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Following his undergrad studies, he moved to Philadelphia and then to San Francisco for further education and training. Upon completion of his fellowship training, he moved back to the South to begin practicing in allergy and immunology.

Dr. Patel currently lives in Atlanta. In his spare time, he enjoys walking the Beltline, trying new restaurants, hiking in the North Georgia Mountains and spending time with his two nephews and niece. Dr. Patel is an avid college football fan (Roll Tide) and Atlanta United supporter.

Research & Publications

Dr. Patel is currently focused on three areas of research. In his work with the Primary Immunodeficiency Treatment Consortium (PIDTC), he is looking to advance improved transplantation outcomes in primary immunodeficiency. Dr. Patel is also working with national patient care organizations on establishing education about primary immunodeficiency in other medical subspecialties. Lastly, he is working with Children’s Food Allergy Program on oral immunotherapy trials.
