Dr. Buchanan specializes in nonsurgical orthopaedics. As an undergraduate at Mercer University, Dr. Buchanan lettered four years in NCAA Division I baseball. After completing a B.S. in Biological Sciences at Florida International University, he spent nine years in the United States Army. While in the Army, he earned his doctor of orthopaedic medicine among other honors. Following an honorable discharge in 1999, he completed his post graduate education at the University of Alabama and University of Notre Dame. He then worked as a sports medicine physician in Wisconsin before relocating back to the South. Dr. Buchanan currently serves as head team physician for Mill Creek High School and assistant team physician for the Gwinnett Gladiators. He provides sports medicine care to numerous other area high school and college athletes.

In his free time, Dr. Buchanan enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
