Kids at Heart, sponsored by the Sibley Heart Center, offers parents, families and caregivers of kids with congenital heart defects a chance to come together and share their experiences.

Monthly Family Dinners

Kids at Heart Family Dinners are open to Kids at Heart members and patient families on the Cardiac Stepdown Unit or the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). Through the monthly dinners, hospitalized cardiac patients and their family members are able to:

  • Connect with other families who have faced similar situations.
  • Learn about helpful resources and information through a brief presentation.
  • Enjoy dinner with the group, provided free of charge.

The dinners are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise indicated, at Egleston's first floor conference center, classroom 5, at 6:00 p.m. No RSVP is necessary.

Always in My Heart

Always in My Heart is a Children's Healthcare of Atlanta program that offers support, fellowship and philanthropic opportunities for parents grieving the loss of a child due to a cardiac condition. We offer quarterly meetings, typically held on a Sunday, at the Children's Office Park.

Family Gatherings- Family Gatherings are designed to connect heart families in communities across Georgia outside of Kids at Heart Events. Gatherings are hosted by family volunteers and are suitable for children of all ages.

Talking to kids and siblings about the heart- Presented by Child Life Specialist Kalli Lamkin, this talk was first featured at our Parenting Your Heart Child Conference and includes tips and resources for talking to kids and siblings about the heart.

Facts about childhood heart disease- A resource for teachers and school nurses to help care for a child with a known heart condition.

Exercise and CHD- Learn more about how exercise relates to congenital heart defects.
