Dr. Leung joined Children’s and Emory in 2017, and is leading the BMT Program at the Aflac Cancer Center at Children’s. Dr. Leung graduated from Oregon Health and Science University School of Medicine in 1995, completed her pediatric and internal medicine residency at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center in 1999, and her pediatric hematology/oncology and BMT fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine in 2004. After completing her fellowship, she remained at Texas Children’s Hospital as a BMT physician until she moved to Georgia. Her specialty in the field of BMT is treating patients with bone marrow failure syndromes, hemoglobinopathies and those needing immune effector cell therapies. Her research interest is in alternative donor therapies and post-transplant support for patients with bone marrow failure and hemoglobinopathies. She has been in practice for 23 years and feels privileged to teach and work with so many patients and families in providing improved therapies in BMT as new innovations evolve in the field. In her spare time, Dr. Leung loves to spend time with her family, travel and explore national parks.
