Concussion Seminar

Presented by the Sports Medicine Program

As coaches, trainers, parents and doctors, you play a key role in preventing concussions and responding to them properly when they occur.

As a result, the Children’s Sports Medicine Program will be hosting a seminar to help you recognize and take the necessary steps if you think your athlete may have sustained a concussion.

Saturday, July 24, 2010
9 a.m. to noon

Children’s at Scottish Rite
Main Auditorium
1001 Johnson Ferry Road NE
Atlanta, GA 30342-1605

We will provide education about:

  • Preventing concussions
  • Early recognition of concussions
  • Assessment and recovery
  • Safe return to play

In addition to physicians, trainers and therapists from the Sports Medicine Program, the seminar will feature a key note speaker. Topics will include:

  • Current understanding of brain physiology before and after a concussion
  • On-field screening tools
  • Medical assessment
  • Computerized testing
