Camp ViTA
At Camp ViTA, our goal is to help overweight children improve their lives by emphasizing increased physical activity, better eating habits and heightened motivation to engage in healthy behaviors.
Camp ViTA includes two family weekends and one full week of residential camp for youth only. The first parent weekend precedes the full week of camp. Families will utilize this time to set goals for lifestyle change. The second family weekend will be a follow-up and reinforcement of lifestyle goals. Registration is limited to four immediate family members. Parents must attend both family camp weekends. Please note that 2010 registration is closed, but check back for 2011 camp dates. If you're interested in volunteering, fill out this application.
Camp ViTA gives children the chance to experience camp, build long lasting friendships and make memories that last a lifetime. We promote positive self-esteem and independence through fun and learning.
Devoted Leadership
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory-Children's Center started Camp ViTA to provide an enjoyable getaway and opportunity for overweight children to meet others with similar challenges. Employees of Children’s and community volunteers will spearhead programs and activities throughout the camp to address issues such as self-esteem and self-confidence. Programs also focus on promoting regular physical activity and healthy eating habits.
