Telemedicine

When faced with suspected child abuse or neglect, turn to the Child Protection Telemedicine and Distance Learning Network.

Telemedicine brochure (PDF)Child advocacy center staff, medical professionals, child protective service workers and law enforcement throughout Georgia can access these services and support through the Child Protection Telemedicine and Distance Learning Network.

Teleconferencing equipment (PDF)The network provides one-on-one access to a team of experts without having to leave your community when sexual or physical abuse or neglect is suspected. Teleconferencing equipment allows a provider at Children’s to converse with the patient, family, investigators and examiner. Medical experts provide real-time assistance with physical exams, while mental health professionals conduct psychological assessments and provide treatment.

Distance learning

Through the network, multidisciplinary teams also have access to continuing professional education about various aspects of child abuse and neglect investigations. Continuing education credit will be available.
