The Zone
Children need a place for fun and laughter. That is especially true while they are recovering from an illness or injury. The Zone was created to help children, teenagers and their families forget—for at least a little while—they are at the hospital.
In The Zone, children, teenagers and their families can relax, watch a movie or play some video games—there are even times when professional athletes from the Atlanta teams stop by to challenge patients to a virtual hockey or baseball game. It is a place where doctors or nurses are allowed—only if they want to play.
With a little help from our friends
An all-star cast of participants from the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation, Troy Aikman Foundation, National Hockey League (NHL) and National Hockey League Player’s Association (NHLPA) sponsored this 3,500-square-foot retreat for Children’s patients.
You can be a part of it too. If you or someone you know would like volunteer their time, donate supplies or coordinate an event, this is the place to do it!
Special events and special friends
We also have had special events and signings from the Atlanta Thrashers and other professional sports teams along with clown, magicians and local artists.
