About Us

The Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Sibley Heart Center is ranked among the top five pediatric cardiac programs in the country by Parents magazine. Combining expert cardiac care with a comprehensive approach to supporting families has helped rank us in the top 10 in the nation for pediatric heart care/heart surgery by U.S.News & World Report.

We provide comprehensive services in leading-edge facilities for your child with congenital or acquired heart defects, including:

Team

Sibley Heart Center Cardiology is the group of 39 pediatric cardiologists who care for pediatric and adolescent patients at more than 40 hospitals and 18 neighborhood locations throughout Georgia. These physicians are affiliated with Emory University School of Medicine. Led by Robert M. Campbell, M.D., Sibley Heart Center Cardiology’s continuum of care begins prenatally with our Fetal Cardiology Program and continues into young adulthood.

In 2008, our pediatric cardiothoracic surgeons performed 850 procedures for congenital and acquired heart defects on children just like yours. Led by Kirk R. Kanter, M.D., our team of surgeons combines their resources and expertise to create a unique program of pediatric cardiac care.

Highlights of the Sibley Heart Center include:

  • ­A central location within the hospital, expanded services and center size, including three new catheterization labs
  • ­27 total beds in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
  • ­27 beds in the Cardiac Step-down Unit
  • ­10 total beds in the catheterization lab recovery area
  • ­Cardiac operating room suites in close proximity to the cardiac intensive care unit
  • Space for leading-edge equipment for medical staff and new family amenities
