We have provided some tools to help school nurses on the front line of fight against the flu.

Children’s has created a tool kit to help community practitioners during the 2009-2010 flu season.

 

 

In the U.S., between 15 million and 60 million people will get the flu this year.* The symptoms can look the same, but there are many different kinds of flu, such as avian and H1N1 (swine flu). Children with underlying chronic illness are at greater risk for serious complications from the flu. These illnesses include, but are not limited to immune deficiency, AIDS, diabetes, severe asthma, heart disease requiring frequent visits to a cardiologist and severe obesity.

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta has brought together resources from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to give parents a head start on flu care and prevention.
