Orthopaedics at Children's Ranked No. 5 in the Nation by Parents Magazine
Parents magazine has ranked Orthopaedics at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, including the Children's Sports Medicine program, No. 5 among the nation's top pediatric orthopaedics programs. The highly anticipated results mark a benchmark year for the exclusive survey, which identifies the top children's hospitals in the country. Children's also has been ranked one of the top 10 pediatric hospitals by Parents magazine.
The 2007 highlights of Orthopaedics at Children's that contributed to this ranking include:
- 4,232 pediatric orthopaedic surgeries
- 33,500 pediatric orthopaedic patients
- 4,531 patients treated by the Children's Sports Medicine program
- Only hospital in Georgia with an onsite lab that makes orthotics and prosthetics
The competitive survey closely evaluated more than 100 children's hospitals to determine where the more than 3 million children hospitalized each year can get the best possible clinical care. Only a 50-point differential separated hospitals ranked No. 3 through No. 10; Children's ranked No. 8.
The results of the survey appear in the February 2009 issue of Parents magazine available now.
