Pediatric Neurology

About Us

Children's pediatric neurology program treats disorders of the nervous system. This includes conditions of the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles.

The Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Neurology program is committed to providing quality comprehensive care to children with mild to complex neurological disorders. Our experienced team of pediatric neurologists will develop a treatment plan just right for your child.

Our team of pediatric neurologists performs routine inpatient and outpatient consultations, and they are available 24 hours a day for emergencies. Your child will benefit tremendously from the large neurology physician team at Children’s.

With 16 neurologists, Children’s is able to offer high-level expertise care for all pediatric neurology subspecialty fields. Our team uses leading-edge technology and patient-support services to provide the highest quality of care for our patients. Pediatric neurologists at Children’s work closely with each child’s pediatrician to develop a plan for successful care once your child leaves Children’s.

Clinical Research and Drug Trials

Our physicians offer clinical studies to children, as a means of treatment that would not normally be available to them. Participation is voluntary, and we have strict rules of privacy.

Clinical studies test new drugs or drug combinations to treat disorders or disease. Before their use, these new drugs are studied at length in the lab. Also, all federally regulated clinical studies are approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB).

We are currently enrolling volunteers with diagnosis for studies, including:

  • Migraines (abortive and preventive)
  • Epilepsy
  • Tourette syndrome
  • Chronic motor tic
  • Vocal tic
  • A.D.H.D.
