Tour de Georgia
Find our Daily Media Alerts from throughout the Tour here, or catch a glimpse of Hope and Will touring with the cyclists at Children's Health & Wellness Expos in the photo tour below.
Families participated in the Health & Wellness Expos at the cyclists' finish lines ending each day in Savannah, Augusta, Gainesville, Braselton (Road Atlanta), Dahlonega, Brasstown Bald Mountain/Towns Co. and Atlanta.
Tour de Georgia cyclists completed seven stages of the race, finishing at Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta on Sunday afternoon. In addition to the Health & Wellness Expo, Children's benefited from the Tour de Kids 5K Run/Walk presented by AT&T. This 5K run/walk began in Centennial Olympic Park on Peachtree Street then back – highlighting downtown Atlanta.
Each of these fundraisers benefited the Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Service of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Highlights from throughout the Tour de Georgia include:
- Rock Racing donated $250,000 to the official beneficiaries of the event, Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Service of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Georgia Cancer Coalition.
- N2 a Cure hosted a charity ride held at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Ga.
- The Toast de Tour was held April 19 in Savannah, Ga. to kick off the Tour de Georgia.
- Dozens of volunteers from Children's supported the Tour de Georgia throughout the seven-day event all across Georgia.
