Meet Martha

MarthaWhen Martha Haythorn’s family moved from Nebraska to Atlanta, quality pediatric care was at the top of their list of priorities. Martha, 9, has Down syndrome--a condition requiring regular orthopaedic care. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), between 15 million and 60 million people will get the flu this year in the U.S. The symptoms can look the same, but there are many different kinds of flu, such as seasonal flu and H1N1 (also called swine flu). Children with underlying chronic illness, such as diabetes, severe asthma and immune deficiency, are at greater risk for serious complications from the flu. Learn how to protect your family from the flu.
