About this Atlanta Charity Event
The 12th annual FIJI Run For The Kids will be held on November 28, 2009. Last year, with the help from over 80 brothers at both the Gamma Tau chapter at Georgia Tech and the Kappa Deuteron chapter at UGA, alongside generous donations from friends and family, we were able to raise nearly $20,000. One hundred per cent of the money raised has been donated to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Children's helps children with terminal illness in the local Atlanta community. Though football season has yet to begin, we are always accepting donations for the cause! Each year since 1998, the Kappa Deuteron Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta at the University of Georgia and the Gamma Tau Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta at Georgia Tech have collaborated to run a football between Athens, Georgia and Atlanta, Georgia for the annual Georgia-Georgia Tech football game on Thanksgiving weekend. Approximately 50 brothers from both chapters will be collaborating to carry the game ball the 74 miles between the two colleges. This year, the football will be carried from Sanford Stadium at The University of Georgia to Bobby Dodd Stadium at Georgia Tech on November 28, 2009.
