At Children’s, surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses and staff understand the special surgical needs of growing children and know how to comfort and help kids if they are scared. The Children’s Surgery Center at Satellite Boulevard offers outpatient pediatric surgery in the following areas:
- General surgery
- ENT (ear, nose and throat) surgery
- Orthopaedic surgery
- Plastic surgery
- Urology
The Center provides the Children’s standards of high-quality, outpatient care including:
- A convenient location for surgeries that do not require hospital admission
- An ambulatory surgery facility specially designed and equipped to care for children
- Board-certified surgeons and anesthesiologists trained for pediatric patients
- Individualized, expert care for patients from 6 months to age 21
Pediatric Anesthesiology
At Children’s, a specialty-trained team of pediatric anesthesiologists direct the anesthesia care for patients. These professionals are experts on the anesthetic techniques that are unique to infants, children, teenagers and young adults.
Services include:
- Anesthetic management tailored to the patient’s surgery and specific health needs
- Ordering medications appropriate for the patient’s sedation and pain control needs
- Management of the patient’s anxiety and comfort level
- Expert monitoring of the patient during the entire surgical procedure and recovery process
Surgical services are available at the Children’s Surgery Center at Satellite Boulevard. In addition, Children’s has four locations for outpatient surgery throughout metro Atlanta.
