Stewards of Children - Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Training
Join us in helping meet the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy's goal of training 1 million adults in Georgia to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse by the year 2020.
To register for a Stewards of Children training, please print and submit the registration form, specifying your training date.
The following Stewards of Children trainings have been approved for 2.5 core hours by the National Association of Social Workers, Georgia Chapter and for 3.0 contact hours by the Georgia Nurses Association*.

Update for School Nurses: Child Abuse and Neglect Recognition, Reporting and Prevention
Sept. 17, 2010 at the Heart of Georgia RESA Educational Technology Center located in Eastman, Ga.
This training will be presented via televideo from Children's at Scottish Rite to the Heart of Georgia site in Eastman. Any school nurses interested in attending this training at the Heart of Georgia can visit www.hgresa.org for more information and to register.

Medical Evaluation of Child and Adolescent Sexual Abuse
The two-day Medical Evaluation of Child and Adolescent Sexual Abuse trainnig will be Oct. 21 and 22, 2010. This course is designed to provide physicians, pediatric or family nurse practitioners, and physician assistants with the knowledge and competency to conduct thorough pediatric forensic medical evaluations for suspected sexual abuse victims. Topics will include: Child sexual development, physical exam findings: normal and abnormal, interpretation and documentation of findings, use of a colposcope and more.

Tenth Annual Child Abuse and Neglect Conference
The two-day Tenth Annual Child Abuse and Neglect Conference will be Thursday, Oct. 28, through Friday, Oct. 29, 2010. This event will provide professionals with the knowledge needed to prevent, recognize and report, investigate and treat child abuse and neglect. The program provides materials and education for professionals in healthcare, social work, law enforcement, child advocacy, law, education and early child care.
