Camp Carpe Diem
An Overnight Summer Camp for Patients with Epilepsy and Other Seizure Disorders

Summer 2011 dates for Camp Carpe Diem will be announced this fall.
At Camp Carpe Diem, every child’s possibilities are endless. From team-building activities to individual support, this camp has something for everyone. Camp Carpe Diem gives every child the chance to experience camp, build friendships and make memories that last a lifetime.
Every child needs to feel special. A child with a epilepsy is no different. We promote positive self-esteem with fun and learning. At Camp Carpe Diem, the only requirements are to laugh, play, grow and explore.
Devoted Leadership
Children’s, in partnership with Camp Twin Lakes, started Camp Carpe Diem in 2010 to provide an enjoyable get-away and a terrific opportunity for patients with epilepsy to meet others with similar medical conditions. Many Children's employees and community volunteers will spearhead programs and activities throughout the camp to address issues, such as self-esteem and personal confidence.
Children ages 7 to 14 can attend camp at minimal cost. Camp Carpe Diem wants every patient to be able to attend, and not be left out because of the financial obligation. Donations toward camp are always welcome.
Helping each child build friendships and share lasting memories, camp volunteers include:
- Doctors
- Nurses, specifically those comfortable caring for children with epilepsy
- Community members who serve as counselors and activity leaders
As a parent, you can rest assured your child is exploring life in a safe and caring place. Camp Carpe Diem 2010 was held at Camp Twin Lakes-Will-A-Way in Winder, Ga., a facility specifically designed for children with special needs. Find directions to Camp here.
