Camp Braveheart

The Camp That's All Heart

At Camp Braveheart, every child’s possibilities are endless. From team-building activities to individual support, this camp has something for everyone. Camp Braveheart gives every child the chance to experience camp, build friendships and make memories to last a lifetime.

Camp BraveheartEvery child needs to feel special. A child with congenital or acquired heart defects is no different. We promote positive self-esteem with fun and learning. At Camp Braveheart, the only requirements are to laugh, play, grow and explore.

Exciting New Changes

Beginning in 2010, Camp Braveheart will have a new format. We are now offering two camp sessions:

Camp Braveheart MatthewCamp Braveheart is organized by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Kathy and Roger Flynn established the camp in honor of their daughter, Ansley, who was born with a heart defect. Today, camp continues in Ansley’s memory. Children ages 7 to 18 can attend camp at no cost through the generous support of private foundations, corporations and individuals—donations are always welcome.

Helping each child build friendships and share lasting memories, camp volunteers include:

  • Doctors
  • Nurses
  • Other healthcare professionals who can provide medicine and treatment when needed
  • Community members who serve as counselors and activity leaders

Special Hearts

"I love Camp Braveheart. It is so fun! I like spending time with other kids with special hearts like me."—Zoe, 9-year-old camper

Peace of Mind

"Camp Braveheart means peace of mind. I know I can send my daughter there and she will not only be cared for by staff that has cared for her since she was a newborn in the CICU, but she will be loved and cared for by people who volunteer their time and want to make it the special time that she and the other kids deserve."—Michelle, mother of a camper
