Opportunities Scholarship Program
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta offers the OPPORTUNITIES nursing scholarship to bilingual students interested in a pediatric nursing career. This scholarship is open to students or individuals looking for a career change. You do not need any previous experience or education in nursing.
Giving You the Opportunity to Succeed
OPPORTUNITIES Scholarship was created to provide educational assistance through scholarships for selected candidates. By joining the exciting world of or pediatric nursing at one of the largest pediatric healthcare facilities in the country, you’re opening the door to a rewarding professional career.
- Applicant must be fluent in English and Spanish
- Applicants must be accepted into a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) program
- Selected applicants will recieve $5,000 per semester for up to two years ($20,000 max) toward their educational needs
- Upon graduation from nursing school, recipients will be committed to work as a registered nurse at Children’s for 12 months for each academic year of support received
- Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the U.S.
Applicants are asked to provide:
- A completed online application and questionnaire due on or before May 1, 2010
- A verified minimum 3.0 GPA (official transcript)
- Two letters of recommendation
- A resume or work/volunteer history (please attach to online application)
- An essay (500 words or less) on the following topics (please attach to your online application): What inspired you to become a pediatric nurse? Describe what it means to you to be a professional pediatric nurse?
You may also be evaluated in a personal interview conducted by the Children's Scholarship Committee.
