Opportunities Scholarship Program
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta offers the OPPORTUNITIES nursing scholarship to bilingual students interested in a pediatric nursing career. This scholarship is open to students or individuals looking for a career change. You do not need any previous experience or education in nursing.
Giving You the Opportunity to Succeed
OPPORTUNITIES Scholarship was created to provide tuition equivalent assistance through scholarships for selected candidates. By joining the exciting world of or pediatric nursing at one of the largest pediatric healthcare facilities in the country, you’re opening the door to a rewarding professional career.
- Applicant must be fluent in two or more languages, one of which must be English
- Applicants must be admitted, enrolled and classified as a student in a matriculated status at an eligible institution
- Selected applicants will receive tuition equivalent assistance up to $10,000 per academic year, for up to four years
- Upon graduation from nursing school, recipients will be committed to work as a full-time registered nurse at Children’s for one year for each year of support received
Applicants are asked to provide:
- A completed online application and questionnaire due on or before May 1, 2009
- A verified minimum 3.0 GPA (high school or college)
- Two letters of recommendation
- A resume or work/volunteer history (please attach to online application)
- An essay (500 words or less) on the following topics (please attach to your online application): What inspired you to become a pediatric nurse? Describe what it means to you to be a professional pediatric nurse?
You may also be evaluated on a personal interview conducted by the Children's Scholarship Committee.
