Cardio Update Modules

Earn CME Credit Online

The Continuing Education Department at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta in collaboration with Sibley Heart Center Cardiology is pleased to bring you an online continuing medical education (CME) opportunity. You can receive one hour of continuing medical education (CME) credit by completing each module below. Read the three issues of Cardio Update listed in each module and complete the questionnaire at the end of each issue.

In order to meet regulatory requirements that allow Children's to provide a limited amount of non-monetary compensation to physicians, we must note your participation in this online CME at a value of $10 per credit. This amount will be applied to your non-monetary compensation allowance. No action is required on your part. Thank you for your interest in the CME opportunities.

To earn your one CME credit, you must complete the following:

  • Correctly answer at least 80 percent of the questions on each article
  • Submit a short evaluation form of the online CME module process
  • Fill out the certificate form to receive and print your CME credit certificate

Module IV (Take all three tests to receive CME credit)

  • Adults with Congenital Heart Disease
  • Chest Pain in Pediatrics
  • The Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS)

Module V (Take all three tests to receive CME credit)

  • Back to the basics: Screening for the risk of Sudden Cardiac Death
  • Dyslipidemias in children
  • PVCS Benign or not ?

Target Audience:
This activity is intended for pediatricians, family practitioners, other primary care physicians and allied health professionals involved in the care of the child with congenital or acquired heart defects.

Instructions for CME Credit:
It is estimated that it will require one hour to review the material in each module of this continuing medical education program and to answer the self-assessment questionnaires. Record your answers to the self-assessment questionnaires and complete the program evaluation on the form provided and submit it online. A score of at least 80 percent is required for CME credit. Follow the instructions at the end to print a CME certificate. Each physician should claim only those credits actually spent in the activity.

Hardware and Software Required to Complete This Activity:
For this CME program, your computer browser should be Internet Explorer 5.0 or Netscape 6 (or higher). If you are using a modem to connect to the Internet, you will need a modem speed of at least 56K.

CME Designation Statement:
Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is accredited by the Medical Association of Georgia to offer continuing medical education to physicians. Children's designates this educational activity for a maximum of one credit toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits actually spent in the activity.
